One possible reason why '11 GT times are somewhat inconsistent..... the new 5.0 may be sensitive to heat (my ASSumption).

It's not clear at this point though and the loss of power could easily be related to some other issue.

    DISCUSSION

Sammy is the first national level competitor I know of to give the new GT a go. He only just took delivery of the car within the last two weeks and ran it last weekend at the Peru Tour.

    LOL.

Just working out the kinks of the first year model on a new gen design. GM had their share of issues on the 5th Gens, and Ford's far from perfect themselves. Now let's see how Strano and the other new 5.0 owners work around this issue.

that is very likely IIRC the pcm controls timing continuously on these, if it runs it into knock I'm not sure how much it would pull before starting to work it back in

it very well could be a heat soak timing/ knock retard issue of some sort

Someone with a '11 V6 reporting highway mileage in the mid-30's.

A lot of last-resort compacts struggle to get that, and they definitely don't have 300hp "balls," per the post linked.

Proof: a really efficient underworked engine is better all around than a really efficient overworked small engine.

Imma get me one of these used if I ever need a commuter someday.

We went and looked at them the other day, I really like the black GT on Lewis' lot minus some minor details.

My biggest gripe just sitting in the car was the damn headrest though...most uncomfortable headrest ever as it protrudes out almost pushing my head forward and down.

i thought u can change adjust the angle of the headrest? but even if you cant, it is actually safer for your head to have your headrest taht way where you to be rear-ended hard

There's probably not any good angle to get rear-ended hard.

not adjustable Kim and I checked

I could care less about putting up with something THAT uncomfortable every single day in anticipation of something that might not happen

kinda like wearing a groin protecting cup 24/7 "just in case"

according to the online traffic school i just had to complete for my ticket, headrests that support your head in that way are most beneficial and designed to do the least amount of damage to youe neck and spine if you're rear ended hard.

look at me, i'm referring to what someone else said! not just making up random crap!
